Loose Steering Column

Loose Steering Column
It's not on my Blazer, but it's on my '85 Burb which seems to run an identical setup. I was wondering what my options are as far as fixing a loose column, and how hard it would be?

our Suburban was the same way...Eventually the whole column went when my husband was driving it. Yeah he is a procrastinator. Luckily it broke in our back driveway. It was pretty easy to put a new one in but make sure it is the right one if you do replace it. He got the wrong one and couldn't take it back because he thought it was just a different bracket than ours and took it off. Only to find out it was not at all going to fit. Wrong linkage and all. But putting it in was fairly simple. If you replace it and need any help just let me know and I'll get him on to help you out.

These tilt columns are notorious for getting sloppy and then failing. What makes matters worse is when you have a lifted vehicle and the wheel gets pulled on whenever you get in and out. I would say it is time to start looking for a replacement tilt column.
