squeek in front end
I have a 2000 jimmy with 117,000 miles. The squeek ison thedrivers side. Ijust replaced theshocks, not the fix. It only squeeks when the wheelsare straight, turn them to either side and the squeek goes away, how ????? This narrowes it downto the steering, i hope. Any helpwould be awesome.
Is this a 4wd?? If it isn't I would possibly suspect a wheel bearing maybe. If its a 4wd then I would think its something with the axles possibly cause you said it squeaks when wheels are straight and when you turn it doesn't make the noise correct?
Take a gander at your control arm bushings. They can rot out and cause a squeaking in the front but it is usually in all situations, not just in straightaways. Take some lithium grease and spray the heck out of them and see if that helps. If not, you now have well-lubricated control arm bushings!
I had a squeekon thedriver side frontwhen I got out of my 2001 Jimmy. It would also squeek going over the slightest bump. Very annoying! I greased my lower ball joints first and the squeek went away. Then I greasedevery zerk I could find.
