steering problems in 2wd

i have a 2001 4x4 jimmy and when i turn sharp(usually parking or backing out) in 2wd it jumps a little. is this normal?

are you sure its in 2wd? being a little more descriptive will help too

Yeah, this sounds kinda silly but make sure it's in 2wd, if it's in 4x4 it will jump when you turn sharp.

im almost positive its in 2wd, unless my electronic 4wd buttons malfunctioned. i felt it shift into four when i pulled someone out and i tried it in 2 first and i spun, pushed 4hi and pulled him out no prob. its not a strong hop but i feel something holding it back when its fully turned.

does it make any popping or creaking type sounds when you turn?

no not really, maybe creaking but no popping.
