Default sway bar bushing and brackets

1999 RWD Blazer frt passenger sway bar bushing bracket broke at blot flange, making a noise. Inspection found the bolt opposite the broken flange had backed out about an inch, which makes me think that is why the flange broke on the other side where bolt is tight.

Brought home a mis-labled 1 1/4 bushing and bracket kit (it was a 3/16) and beccause bracket would not fit old bushing put the smaller bushing around the sway bar and tried to tighten bolts over the slightly incomplete circle of bushing material.

Then the threads of the side where the bolt hung low stripped. I found a bolt and was able to install a nut and a cpl of lockwashers to replace the stripped out tap. Looks like it will work for a while, but really need the right size bushing.

Anybody here seen frame taps strip that way?
