Default Sway bar bushing removal/installation

I was thinking about changing out my sway bar bushings to see if it will correct the light clunking noise coming from the front driver side (I think). Is it necessary to unload the torsion bars to change these bushings? I hope not cuz its a PIA to do. Just to be sure, the sway bar doesn't affect alignment, does it? The tire on the driver side is wearing more on the outside and I'm not sure why. Since owning this truck ('08) I've replaced the steering linkage, ball joints, control arm bushings, and the DS hub and axle. Mostly with high quality parts. Any suggestions?

You do not have to remove the tension on the tbar to remove your sway bar.

I did mine one side at a time with the truck on the ground. IIRC, the suspension needs to be loaded when you tighten everyting up. It's a simple job that should take no more than an hour, depending on which bushings you're replacing. If it's the end links, about an hour. The frame mount bushings took me like 15 minutes or so.
