I stand corrected on the switch. Kinda like my 98 Tahoe was.

I am giving up on this. I am starting to wish I never took it in. The mechanic is a transmission guy too. It has been there for 2 weeks now he says he still hasn't checked this switch. Guess I am just going to stick to having 2 wheel

I dont think the switch was too bad in price. I think my cost at the dealer was around 25 bucks.; So your looking at around 40 I would assume.

where in Ontario are you? i might be able to help you out. (kinda helps where members put that info in the upper right corner)

don't give up just yet. just because this mechanic does transmissions as well, doesn't necessarily mean he knows what's going on (like say a transmission specialist would).

if it's been there 2 weeks already, and he's waiting on you, then i'd be looking for another opinion on the issue.

I am in Oakville. He says he just looks at it when he gets time so he can keep my cost down. But this is getting out of hand. I thought there was only a few things that could go wrong with the 4x4. So I am still waiting to hear about the switch.

I have the Blazer back home. The emchanic couldn't fix it. He said that he could put it in 4x4 manually and with vavuum but that's it. Now I can't even drive it because it doesn't even shift properly. I have to manually shift it from 1st to 2nd and so on. He says it is a safety mode but now I am lost. Wishing now the truck would just catch fire and collect the insurance haha
