taking out my driveshaft

Default taking out my driveshaft

i have a 2000 jimmy 4wd, how do i take out the driveshaft, 4 bolts on the rear axle side? and what about the transfer case side?

If I am correct, once you take out the 4 bolts holding the u-joint to the rear differential, then you're driveshaft should just be able to lower it and slide it right out of the transfer case.

that is correct Brandon.

@ giaco; just be sure to wrap some electrical tape tightly around the u-joint before you "pop" it out of the diff's yoke. 3 or 4 wraps will do-remember to keep the wraps tight (it'll keep the cups from falling off).

also have a small pan under the back of the t-case to catch the little bit of trans fluid that will come out.
