Default Tie rod seems very rusted

Got to my passenger side tie rod to adjust the toe, loosened the 2 bolts but had to spread them apart with a flat head screwdriver to break them from the sleeve so I could move them, once I got them loose enough to swivel and move a bit I tried turning the sleeve but the thing won't budge. After accepting there's no way I can turn this thing with every type of wrench I can grab I figured I'd remove the outer tie rod from the knuckle and try to twist it but only got as far as removing the castle nut. Can't get the tie rod out of the steering knuckle. The ball joint on the knuckle looks brand new and still has grease on it, in fact I believe it was changed about a year ago so I figured it'd be easy to remove, but I smacked the knuckle up a bit with a rubber mallet then went to the ball peen to shock it out but it won't budge. Am I the only one who has trouble with this? I guess I'll have to buy the tie rod remover, planning on replacing the entire rod.
