Default Tires

So, my blazer as of right now is setting on the stock size tires. Thats all about to change asap, while living on a college budget. I am in the process of planning a 2" body lift and a 2" supension lift to go onto my blazer. I know that the largest size you can do on the blazers with the CV axles is 33x12.5 but what size will fit nicely underneath this set up? Anything is a major help.

As far as tire size it all boils down to your own personal preference. Most that I have seen are up to either a 31to a33 but I think thewidth is like a 10.50.Again its all a matter of preference. Ithink you can go bigger though there are a few guys on here with similar setups as yours that have 33 I think but asfor as the width I am not sure.Rocky Mountain Suspension has a good page of pictures that have descriptions of what the lift and tire size are. Here is a link:
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/gal...evySSeries.htm
It does have some pictures of the colorado and canyon, they just through that size of trucks together. There is a 2 blazer its the 9th one down on the left and its tan it has a 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift. Its got 31"x10.50" on 15s that fits nice. From what some of the other guys on here say size is gonna depend on how much trimming you want to do to make the tire fit without rubbing.

im not sure about the tires but in your signature, you wrote that a superlift 2in suspension lift is soon to come. before you spend $600+ run a search here about it. from what i have heard, its basically just a torsion bar crank which you can do for free

^^^^ Very true on the t-bar crank, plus the superlift kit and the tbar crank both have the same issues with wear so saveyourself some green. As for tires 31's will fit nicely with a body lift and 1.5-2" of suspension lift. 32's with minor trimming will also fit, do a little more and you can get 33's. Its been posted before but www.blazer-2.com has some info on trimming that will point you in the right direction.

otnietdehoooo: Ive looked at the superlift kit, and see what you mean, although i have hear some horror stories about cranking the t-bars. I saw in the kit that it includes the modified t-bar keys and upper control arms to correct the alignment of the problem that results from cranking the t-bars. Although im still not sure if its worth it.

RCars2: Love the blazer, that thing looks amazing. Thats about what im going for. Have you had any problems with snapping the halfshafts?

A couple of problems that i am havingis that the front tire on the driver side slammed into my fender and actually caused it to buckle where the fender lines up with the hood, and screw up the gap between the fender and door. I removed the wheel spacers in the frontand it hit the fender again, so something has to be fixed. On the passenger side, my tire has actually taken my trim and bent it so that when i cut the wheel, it cuts the tire. I have straighten it back flat to the finder but for the life of me cannot figure out whatdid it.So far this truck and the tires on it are amazing. My buddy (hes got a 95 wrangler with 4" of lift and 33's) and i do alot ofmudding around Greenville, and i only really have problems when i high center. Of course isnt that a problem with all of our vehicles??? But i guess what im looking is something to get my blazer up and to have my buddy to have his **** handed to him when i can go where ever he goes and then some.

You want to make it more capable.
Rear locker, front limited slip, then put on the best mud tire you can afford.

Ground clearance is overrated. Traction is where its at, if you dont have traction your not going anywhere!!!!!!

Big tires and a lift look cool though.

Lets do some math.
30" tires, they will fit on a stock rig.
33" tires, offer 1 1/2" inches more ground clearance over the 30" tires.
Will that 1 1/2" make a difference, sure maybe 10% of the time.

High Centered eh?
Take a look under the Heep. See that big *** t-case hanging below the frame rails. How far does it hang down? Now look under your Blazer, how far does your t-case hang below the frame rails? Pull out that ruler and see who's is higher off the ground? I'd be willign to bet that his 33" tires compard to your 30" tires that he will get high centered on lower obsticals then you.

Look at the wheel bases too. Yours is much better at climbing, its longer then the Wranglers. Hes got you on articulation, the only way your going to gain articulation is by a Solid Axle Swap. While we are on articulation, he will gain more traction by keeping his tires on the ground more. Hence why I recommend lockers front and rear. Even if you have a tire off the ground, your still going to get traction from the other tire.

So whats your best option. Rear locker, front limited slip, and beefy 30" tires. You'll be pulling his **** all day long.

Pretty much agreed there. Although a 2" bodylift and some smaller shackles in the rear with a small amount to torsion bar cranking (like 1") plus some 31's wo;; set you up good. Plus all that fun stuff Hanr3 mentioned. Are you talking about Greenville, WI? I live in Appleton if thats where you are talking about. Personally, with the setup Hanr 3 mentioned plus some 31" tires, you should be able to kick that heeps butt. I know stock with highway tires, I did as good or better offroad than 3 other larger tired heep wranglers.

Alright you all have got me sold. Im lucky enough to have th electronic locker in the rear of my blazer and love it, but as for the front limited slip, i have looked for some and cannot seem to find any. I would greatly apperciate any help finding this part. As for tires, i have been looking into the BFGs MT KM's but im still not sold on paying that much for them. I would love someopinions on which tires you all have had . And im in Greenville, NC. Thanks again you'll.

From everything I've seen and read about the Superlift 2" kit, is that as long as you DON'T over crank the t-bars, it'll be fine...

A lot of people run under the assumption that you can max the t-bar crank on those... which you can't, otherwise you have the same issues as if you were to max out the t-bars on a stock setup,
