transfer case suggestions
ok so last week my transfer fried in my '89 k-5 blazer, it is the np-241c transfer, should I stick with that kind or go with 203, 205, or 208 I have access to all for free but can only pick one I know the 241 and 208 are chain driven, but don't know about the 203 or 205 any suggestions are apreciated
forgot also if anyone has any other suggestions for transfer case for the blazer that's cool too I just like the idea of free

You will have issues mating the 203 and the 205 to your 700R4 transmission. I believe that the 208 was offered with the 700R4 so that would not be too bad.
Of all of them, the 205 is the only one that is not chain driven.
Between the 208 and the 241, they both are fairly equivalent in torque handling. The main downside of the newer aluminum case transfer cases is that they do not handle rocks hitting them anywhere near like what a cast iron case would. Other than that, they are lighter and really hold up well offroad, torque wise.

thank you for the advice on the 205 what trans is it made to hook up with???

A bunch of them. You could get the 205 behind a TH350, TH400, SM465, plus a few other manual transmissions which were offered. By far the most common is the SM465 as that is what it was standard behind for the early trucks.
Like I said though, you will have trouble getting a 205 behind your TH700R4 transmission. You will likely have to have a custom adapter made up.
