Unhappy trouble with the right ring and pinion

Hey guy's i need your help bad. This is my first post so bear with me. I have a 2000 s-10 4wd pickup with the 4.3 and 7.5 / 7.625 rear with the g-80 and the gt-4 option with disc brake's and 3.73 gear's. When i bought it the outer ring gear bearing was bad and wore the original ring and pinion. So i rebuilt the whole rear , bearing's , seal's , caliper's , rotor's. i ordered a new ring and pinion from jeg's , part #555-60009. they wont even come close to working. My original ring gear was thinner and the pinion gear is smaller? part # 555-60009 is for a pickup. It does not designate a 4wd. But when i check their site a 2000 s-10 jimmy , sonoma , e.t.c. has a different part# . Do i need a ring and pinion from a jimmy? , one that is thinner? Thank's guy's

Have you cross referenced the parts with a GM parts seller? Perhaps there are more details there?

Christine , thank you for replying. I have not cross referenced the part#s because i thought it would be a " plug-n-play" thing. i have set up several rear gear's but this one has me baffled. As i stated before my original ring gear is thinner but the one Jeg's say's should fit doesn't. It's thicker. the part# 555-60009 is for a 7.5 / 7.625 3 serie's carrier which is what i have. But it's thicker than my original. They have another one for a Jimmy, Blazer, sonoma e.t.c. , so im guessing because they are 4wd 's that one should work?? I'm baffled on this one.
