Default Type/Brand of Lower Ball Joint

I had my bro n law over today, we did some routine work on both of our trucks.

When I was greasing his lower ball joints, I noticed a perfectly round circle around the grease fitting on both lower ball joints. I looked at mine, I have replaced mine and mine look different no circle (this must be for the fitting to move?). Can anyone tell me what brand they are or if that allows grime and s%^& into the top of that joint. They are aftermarket, as they are have the new hardware. He just bought this truck 4200 miles ago. They still look to be in good shape however. Pics are before I greased em up, and wiped them down slightly.

His truck is an 02, 4X4 by the way

Not a big deal, more out of curiousity! Thanks men

cant tell what brand, no debris can enter around that big hole and get into the joint, the top of the joint is a solid cap that houses the ball. if yours is 4x4 is has the same holes. 4x2 the fitting points down at the ground. yours may just be buried in crud, that hole is only there to give the grease zerk a home. the oem joint are the same except the oe fittings are the short ones and come up only flush to the top of the hole in the a-arm

^ what he said. If yours is 4wd than it has the same cutouts in the LCA for the grease fittings
