Thats true, so that joint needs to be stiff so i can check that way. i appreciate all your help i will let you know what the results are.

well thanks for all your help, i took off the front drive line and it seemed ok and i was goign to replace my rear transfer case seal so i took out my drive line and the front u joint was bad. i was really puzzled why it wasen't moving. I tried pulling on it and what not before and it was all really tight and when i got it out it was loose as a goose and they were orginal and and i have 204,000 miles. It was a pain getting the old ones out but heated them up and then used a 20ton press. i apprecaite your help got it all put back together.
