What kind of a lift do you use? What changes did you make?

I blew threw 2 sets of RC shocks in the front within a few months and barley even went wheeling that hard. If you own a ZR2 S10 and with the 2.5'' lift the rear shocks will probably be to short and max out on you going over speed bumps with very little speed.

One last thing id like cleared up. Do body lifts and suspension lifts decrease ride quality at the same level?
Like a 6 inch suspension lift vs a 2.5 inch suspension+2 inchbody lift. Which one would have better ride quality considering you used it for commutes

Would give a worse ride than a 6". Cranking the torsion bars always gives a worse ride.
6" doesn't rely on messing with the torsion bars, so it would ride like stock. It would be more top heavy though.

Depends on the suspension lifts. Some are better than others.

I heard some stuff about the unreliability of of body lifts so now i can either go with the RC 2.5 or 6 inch but I can't decide at all... I dont go offroading every weekend and even tho the 6 inch lift looks sick I still don't think the ride quality sacrifice will be worth it

There's nothing unreliable about body lifts... they are the most reliable as they don't mess with any suspension components at all.


And like I just said, the ride quality will be better with the 6" than the 2.5"......

I personally really like body lifts. Keeps suspension geometry factory and the COG lower while fitting larger tires. As long as you get a quality 3 inch or less kit you are good. The steering is a non-issue and does not weaken anything. It is a good chance to inspect body mounts and bushings and it makes working on some things easier with the extra room. Also exposes the frame so you can weld on rockslider easily for body protection. You can hide fender gaps easily with some gap guards or simply cutting and bolting on a section of rubber cargo mat.

The myths of unsafe body lifts is anchient history. Is was from homemade stuff and using lesser quality bolts to save a few pennies. These days they are as safe or safer than suspension.

As with anything, the quality of components and install is the key to anything. I never let anyone work on my rig due to wanting to no everything is torqued and done right.

It does sound good to me but when I was looking at reviews the other day I heard of stories of the mounts cracking or whatever when off roading and while it may seem unlikely it still sounds bad IF it does happen..
