Default Is the world backwards ZR2 LCA?

02 ZR2. I have purchased 2 different lower control arms for my ZR2 and both came with the sway bar link outboard of the shock mount where my original is forward of the shock mount. I am trying to gather the parts for a complete front suspension rebuild. The questions is are they all wrong? Is that the only difference for the ZR2, if so I will just swap for standard 4WD. Is the sway bar mounting year specific? Should I cut the old mount off and weld to new arms(warranty void)?

There is a recent thread where this came up. I believe the consensus might have been that the manufacturers of the new replacements are getting the placement wrong for that tab.

Could you not reuse the old control arms and replace the bushings and ball joints instead?

I believe one of mine is tweaked. I would rather move the tabs on the new arms than replace the ball joints and bushings on the old ones. That way I get a good square/straight control arm.

This link shows the LCA I have on my 98 ZR2 with High Wider suspension. Pretty sure it's original.

Edit: Link not working...look up Moog part# CK620464.

That appears to be the same part I have with the sway bar bracket different design in the wrong place, every pic I look at is that way. Maybe the 98 is different from the 02.

I've heard of multiple people having this issue, it seems most of the manufacturers have this issue for the zr2 arms. So far I have not seen anyone come up with an answer as to an aftermarket manufacturer that does not have this issue at the moment... relocating the bracket is definitely going to be your best bet... it's damn hard to swap the control arm bushings on our trucks without destroying the control arm in the process
