Default ZR2 rear end in a non Z

Well, im in the process of putting a ZR2 rear end in my blazer. I got it all in and bolted down and found out that the driveshaft wont bolt together good. It will bolt together but there is a lot of slop because the u-joints are different. My question now is can I swap the yoke between the two rear ends or do I have to buy a new driveshaft? If i need a driveshaft will anyone work out of a ZR2? Im guessing that it would have to have an NP8 tcase like mine.

Get a conversion joint.

ZR2 specs:
Dimension : 1.19 x 1.19 Brg. Dia. x 3.62 x 3.62 Overall Width == 1350 Spicer

Non-ZR2 specs:
Dimension : 1.13 x 1.13 Brg. Dia. x 2.37 x 2.37 Overall Width == 2-3011 Saginaw S44

*EDIT* - The Neapco 2-1153 conversion joint is what you want. Advanced Auto sells Neapco (or so their website says) - $25.

Those looking for other conversion joints, check out Neapco's catalog at Neapco.com
