I just got back from upstate NY and wanted to brag about how my Blazer did.

The Facts

1. 36 hours straight driving from Chicago to Granville NY on 32" mudders.
2. 1776 miles and 6 fill ups. = 296 miles per tank = 18.5 miles / gallon??? (not bad for an '01).
3. Snowed the whole way from the lake effect snow from Lake Michigan, Erie and ontario. On the way back they shut down the road in PA right after we went through.
4. Stuffed a very rare CJ7 metal hardtop in the back and on the roof.

We also saw a lot of cars and trucks in the ditch but not us!

sounds like a decent road trip-except for the mil.............wait, you're running 32's? with agressive tread?!? through all that snow (running in 4WD no doubt)..............that's actually pretty good mileage! i stand corrected.

soooo...........where are the pic's of all the carnage you were witness to?

That's a long trip! I'll bet he was in 2wd cause I can get almost anywhere in 2wd with my 01 and stock tires. Even in the snow. I had 31 MT's on my 88 and it went pretty good in 2wd and snow also. Glad to see decent gas mileage. I average about 16 mpg.

It was a long trip. Only had it in 4x4 for a little bit in Erie, PA. I give those people credit for living there, lots of snow! Gas did real good for driving with the lift and 32" BFG KM1 mudders.... Even the guy I bought the jeep top from had an s10 pickup, and a K5 Blazer. I find a lot of people who are both in the Blazer and Jeep comunities. Most of the Jeeps are so wild they can't use them as DD, so they have their Blazers as work horses. Would be an intersting pole.
