4x4 into 2x4??
Hey some of you may think im stupid, but im debating on ripping the 4x4 guts out and make an extreme or putting a small lift on and making a ZR2... If i did decide to go the 2x4 way what all would I have to take out to be able to drop it down?

Could leave the 4wd system in and drop it. Tearing it out kills the resale value...
If you are set on tearing it all out, then you will have to remove the transmission and either swap it for a 2wd model or swap the tail shaft (complete disassembly of the transmission). If that is too much, then you'll have to leave the transfer case.

Unless you are doing a custom front suspension, just as much as it can without it. The front of a 4x4 is easy to drop a decent amount, just loosen the torsion key adjusting bolts located in the cross member at the back end of the torsion bars.

Also to actually make it 2wd you will have to get a 2wd frame(they are different in the front)
My brother has a 4x4(took out torsion key bolts and 2 inch blocks in the back)that sat lower than my lowered 2wd(2 inch spindles and 2 inch blocks).
