I know these questions can get sort of redundant but here goes nothing. I have a 99 4 door 4x4 blazer. I want to lower atleast 3 inches all the way around. My question is how low can I go before I have to start worrying about the functionality of my 4 wheel drive. I would like to go around 5 inches all the way around but I don't know much about lowering a 4x4. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

do air bags that will give you the low rider look and what not but still have the functional 4 wheel drive for the harsher months it is an expensive upgrade but when you look at lowering it 5 inches you start to have to worrying about body damage ball joints not holding up bearings and chamber and then to upgraded you shocks/struts swaybars bushings. all for a smooth ride it will get expensive so my advise is to get a ffbs air suspenision kit then you will be able to still have the lowering but practicallity ingo up drive ways and not haveing to worry if your going to buttom out and smash the front bumper or roll into a curb after you put it in park people with auto trannys

 

from what i hear there is a lot of frabrication needed to bag a 4x4 i have one and i was told that it would take a lot to do ...i have mine lowered 3" and it was hard enough to find a kit for just 3" for a 4x4... ithink any lower than 3 you will start to have probs with ball joints and such

 

time's right. there are no "kits" to bag a 4x4. but with the right tools, knowledge, and fabrication skills, its possible. ive seen a bagged and bodydropped functional 4x4 blazer, but everything was fabricated. you're best bet would be to get a 3" drop from belltech. timetoblaze could help you out with that.

i hate chassis-tech. ive had nothing but problems with their products and AIM is no help either. looks like they eliminate the front drive axles by mounting the bags to the lower control arms.

 

Is there anything I need to worry about if I lower it 3 inches. One of my buddies said that I have to worry about the drive shaft angle for the 4x4 to work right. I am not sure so I just want to clear things up If at all possible.
