Default 4x4 and Lowering

Ive recently aquired a 1994 s10 Blazer, but its a 4x4. It recently received a little damage to the front but the engine runs great. I want this to be my new project vehical. I cant find a lot of resources to answer the questions I have. I finally stumbled on this forum. Im fairly noob to this so lay it on me. Can my blazer be lowered, how low, where is the best place for parts. I was planning on 20s, can this be done or should I go with a smaller rim tire package. I was looking on stylin concepts and saw some 3" front and 3" back lowering components. The title says its a 94 but its the old body style. Anyone with some experience in this particular situation feel free to hit me up with a post. Thanks in advance.

Lowering will take a lot of research and special parts. Most owners of 4X4's lift there trucks and put on oversize tires to run in the mud and trails that have deep ruts....so there will be little information on how to lower your 4X4 Blazer.

Good hunting and Luck

im not a expert or anything but my 95 jimmy is lowered, an all i have is blocks an a twist of a torsion bar..you might need coilsprings dont know about the 94, just trying to encourage if that's what you want to do, but 20's with rims look good, check out my pic oh i looked at www.thesuspensionbible.com for some crap, that might help, good luck

you can lower it easy jdm and belltech both sell kits. they didnt change the body style on the blazers till 95 so the 94's still have the square body style.

i have a 92 blazer and i used to have a 94( i rolled it)
after i rolled i wanted to lower my truck to help with stability.
and i researched the internet a bit and went to the custom car shop near my house and lowering a 4x4 is not a good idea.
for one it puts quite a bit of strain on the ball joints. and the cv joint.
i have heard of alot of guys who lowered their blazers only to have their wheels fall off.
which i am sure you would like to avoid.
also i take it that you aren't just lowering your blazer for looks you want to help with the performance aspect too?
if so then the 4 wheel isn't really going to help you all that much.
accually it would hurt you more than it would help.
because of the added weight.
also blazers didn't have limited slip front axles.
so unless you are in an area of low traction you aren't supposed to switch into 4 wheel.
so the 4 wheel drive limits your speed and acceleration.

Not sure if the front CV will like you. Post what you decide to install. I'm interested.
