There are a few threads in the "Lifting Tech" & "Tires & Wheels" sections detail what wheels fit with what lifts.

Just assuming that you have a 97 s-series truck from your screen name. If that is the case, you are most likely looking at a 6" suspension lift and may have to do a body lift on top of that. Either way, $$$.

I recently borrowed a set of 33s and quickly found out that I would need a sawzall in order to actually go offroad and steer at the same time. You are gonna need a 6" suspension lift. Maybe also a body lift depending on the wheel width and backspacing.

thanks guys i might have to go the cheaper route with just a 2 inch bodylift and the rough country 2 suspension and just clear some 31's. A six inch lift is gonna cost me more than i payed for the car lol seriously. Any suggestions on what else to do to get them extra inches without breaking open the bank account that i dont have??? Also without putting the car at risk to be damaged to bad.

Crank your t-bars, you get get about 1.5" and still be safe I think.
