Link type Torsion bar mount help 2000 jimmy
So i got this annoying pop when leaving a stop sign, or when i am stopping. it also makes a poping noise when going over bumps. I stuck a pry bar beside the frame and torsion bar crossmember and i can move it side to side enough for it to hit the frame. i think this is were the popping noise is coming from. I searched on here and found that if i had the regular mounts i do not have to unload the torsion bars to change them, just use a floor jack under the crossmember. But havent found any info on replaceing the link style . basically i am wondering if its possible to change them without having to unload the bars..

I just did these back in December, I jacked the front end of the truck and set it on jack stands so both wheels were off the ground and removed and replaced the links one side at a time without any problems. There’s a nut on the bottom under the crossmember and then there’s a bolt and nut for the top one. You’ll need to put a socket in a hole in the frame to hold the bolt still while you unscrew the nut.
