Default need lifting advice from the gods

wusup people, I need major advice, I currently have a 2002 chevy blazer with air bags...and hate the ride!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to get rid of them and add a lift kit. I don't trust shops because I've been bent over 2 many times. heres what I'm looking for, a smooth comfortable (cadillac ride) and I want to do it myself, because that way I know if I messed something up. My knowledge for the suspension is the blazer repair manual, which I understand the fundementals of the basic suspension. now!! what route should I take, should I go with a lift kit?, spindles?, coil spring spacers?, and should i even try it myself??? what shocks and springs should I use, which are smooth and comfortable?? I dont go weelin in the mud, it's a driving car. also, I'm on a budget of around 1200. help me out guys

right now my blazer is sitting stock with rancho rsx shocks on it. Smooth comfortable ride. no lift or anything. but a nice ride. you say ya don't go muddin' why spend the bucks on a lift if it won't be used? or is it for show purposes?

If you currently have air bags on the Blazer, then it must be a 2wd correct? Ive looked and cant find a 2wd lift that fits anything later than 97 or 01. The spindle design changed in 98 so GM could fit bigger brakes to make up for the lack of brakes in previous years, the newer spindle is bigger and harder to lift. Here is the kit I found that fits up to 2001... Rough Country -Click
