is it necessary to get a new allignment any time you lift a truck. Doing it like this or with a lift kit?

Bump... i saw a few people asking this question.

 

I'll make a conglomeration post in the DIY section out of both sledneck's and Jigg's posts in this thread, ofcourse giving credit where credit is due and link it back to this thread for discussion and/or correction of the DIY thread.

Ofcourse, that's when I get some time to do that... Maybe when I get back from fire training tonight. LOL... that's a BIG maybe!

 

so everyone agrees that 2 inches of lift is the max you would want to crank the torsion bars?

 

I only went 1.5" on the torsion bars, i only need to fit 31's. So now i have a 3.5" lift (shackles)in the back and a 1.5" in the front. Thanks for the help jigg.

thanks! just got in from cranking my T-Bars, 4 full turns gave me 2 inches[&:]

the rear is still 1 inch higher than the front [:@] guess ill have to buy the rough country suspension lift to be happy

 

Lets bring this back up and see, because I am about to drive 750 miles each way to get to Colorado, for anyone who cranked their t-bars 1.5" OR LESS, did you have cv and boot problems so far? Also, do you think I would be alright to crank them and drive that far pretty much 1 or 2 weeks later?

 

ok, here is my problem. I picked up a 97, has all mixed tires. looks like buddy b4 picked them up at a wreckers, now here is my problem. I want to put 31's and get a little lift, 2" shackles in the rear, and crank the t-bars in the front. put her up on a lift and looked. the passenger bolt was almost cranked all the way in, but the driver side bolt was about 3/4" out. How can I measure this with the f'd up tires. I was just going to crank them all the way in, but now your guys got me worried. I need to know the factory specs, or the diffence from the back, so I can adjust them. I have a garage that lets me use it on weekends and after hours, so I have an alignment rack, just need the #s. Thanks.
