Default Wierd Tire Wear

The 93 jimmy I just bought has some wierd tire wear up front. The inside and outside of the front tires are both worn down pretty bad. I am sure the tires were at some point rotated due to either the inside or outside wearing down prematurely however I can't tell which one? Which would be more likey on a 4x4? I don't think the suspension has been adjusted any up front more more cleareance so I am just guessing that the front end is sagging a bit causing the tire wear. What can I do to remedy this situation? Adjust torsion bars?

Default RE: Wierd Tire Wear

sounds like low tire pressure to me--the sides are supported by the sidewalls so they have plenty of pressure on the road, and with proper air pressure this pressure is equal across the tread. to high of a pressure and you will get high wear in the middle of the tread, and low will wear faster on the outside.

get some new tires and get it aligned to be 100% sure--and keep an eye on your tire pressures--dont fill to what it says on the tire--fill to what it says on the sticker in your door jam---or even 2psi higher if you want less sidewall flex and more wear [8D]
