30x9.5x15, Irocs, no lift?
Hey guys before I go and buy a set of tires, I was wondering if a set of mid 80s Irocs with 30x9.5x15 would fit on a stock blazer, no lift. If anyone has tried this before please pitch in! I know 30s will fit on stock rims, and Irocs push the tire out another couple inches.
Thinking I'm gonna go for these puppies (I noticed they redesigned the site recently, too)
I think eventually I'll toss on a RC 2.5" and a body lift but that will be some time from now. I've got some space to fill in my wheel well.

I have the iroc rims with 235-75-15 tires on them, they are like 3/4 of an inch from the front mud flaps when it's at its closest point., I have had a little bit of rub offroad, but that could just be that the torsion bars are sagging.

Alright so correct my math if I'm wrong here.... I'm only starting my second cup of coffee, so don't mind my left-handed math.
235mm x 0.75 = 176.25mm = ~7",
7 + 15 = 23"
30 - 23 = 7".....
So stock with Irocs will be something like 4.25" I need for clearance and no rub? (That's 3.5" on stock rims adding your 3/4" on Irocs) So I'll need something of a solid 4.5-5" tire to fender with what I have now all the way around... I think?
I'm not sure about my T bar either, it looks to be sagging. I'll have to crank it to see what I get beforehand.
EDIT: Which I certainly don't have.... I have one tire that clears 5" at it's absolute max.... The front sags about an inch, and the left side is about 1/2" raised than the right side. /facepalm

The tough part with trying to get larger tires on the Blazer's is that there are a ton of variables, and everyone's experience is just a little different. My GUESS would be that on stock suspension and body height you would rub the back of the front fender when you're turning and hit a bump with 30x9.5's on IROC rims. This all depends on tread depth, suspension sag, tolerances in the assembly of your truck, etc. If the line worker at the plant put your fender on a 1/4" farther forward you might have a harder time fitting larger tires. Really the only way to know for sure is to start measuring and testing. Again, my educated guess would be that 1.5" to 2" lift would allow you to clear that tire/rim setup.
My suggestion would be to try and find some cheap used tires on Craigslist or somewhere to test fit everything before you go spending a lot of money on a new set of tires. Once you know you can fit that size easily then buy new tires. That's how I've done it every time I go up a tire size. I paid $50 for my 265/70/17's because I knew it was going to be difficult to make them fit.

I agree, tires can be different sizes, I had Michelin road tires on stock rims, then I went to cooper discoveries that were the same size, but the cooper tires were like a half inch shorter or something like that.

I see! That could be my difference in height from the front and back.... one pair on the front and one pair on the back. I'll keep an eye out. I totally forgot about craigslist... Thanks!
