Default 4x4 question

well this weekened one of my tires went flat. i replaced it yesterday and the guy told me that on a 4x4 vehicle all 4 tires should be the same, now last year i replaced the front pass with a diffrent tire from the rest and this tire (front drivers sdie)is diffrent fron the other front and the rears, its push button 4x4 and i rarly use it. do i have to worry about the diffrent tires messing up the 4x4? note all 4 tires are the same size the only diffrence is the brands
any input
thanks
Eric

No Eric, the BRAND of tire doesn't make any difference except for the possibility of a slight difference in handling charecteristics. What you DO NOT want to do is replacea tire or 2 on a 4WD when the others are BADLY worn or a different size. The effective diameter of all 4 tires need to be very close on a 4WD or AWD vehicle. As long as your other tires have at least 60% (or so) tread left, you should be fine.

i would recomend using your 4x4 once a month for about five miles to keep the fluid movin around. you dont want to be one of those people who dont use the 4x4 all summer long (most girls) and then when the first snow flake hits and you panic. you then reach for 4x4 and it dont work. not sayin it happens but im not sayin it dont.
