Default backspacing help!

Ok so I'm kind of confused on one matter after reading some threads I just want to get something clarified. If I were to get 3" back spacing rather than 4.25" back spacing, which one would make the tire stick out of the wheel well further and make it look wider? 3" backspacing right?
thanks in advanced

that is correct. The stock wheels are 6. So they would stick out 3in farther. I dont recommend doing that though. That will put a lot of force on you wheel bearings and the will wear on quickly. You will also have rubbing issues. My wheels are 4.5in BS which is the farthest you really want to go. I go through wheel bearings in 6 months but i have 33s and i beat on it a bit so that makes it worse.

Assuming your truck is a 4x4, 3 inch backspacing would be sticking 3 inches past where the stock wheel would be... That's because stock for a 4x4 is 6 inches...

I'm not sure what stock 2wd backspacing is, but it's around 4.25~4.5 if I'm not mistaken.

I just want to get the wider look, I have 31X10.5X15 on now with a 2" body lift and 6.5" fabtech susp lift and the tires look tiny so I'm thinking of getting 33X12.5X15 I have a ton of room. I was thinking about getting cragar soft 8 with 4" or 4.24" backspacing, I have a 99 2wd blazer base model
