Question Need new tires, what do you suggest...

The car is a 2001 Chevy Blazer 4dr, 4.3l, 2wd. I live in souther california, no snow to worry about. Just a bit of rain. A local americas tire is selling me a hankook optima h724 70k tread tire that comes in 235/75-15 for the price of 330 out the door for a set of 4 tires, but my origonal equipped tire size is 235/70-15. Is there something to worry about?? What tires do you recommend?? What tires do you guys think i should stay away from?? The car is daily driven. I guess you could say my budget is around 300 bucks

The 75 means that the tire will be about a 1/4 inch taller than the 70, so it wont be a problem. 330 for 4 tires is a really good price!

sounds like your blazer doesn't see much off roading. I would go with some michelins those are the best tires last forever ride nice on the road. they are a little pricey but worth the money imo. and I had 235/75/15s on my blazer before I lifted it they are just a little taller than the 235/70/15s.

the ltx A/T's are really nice they are rated really good in the rain and snow and they are really smooth on the highway. They are supposed to last at least 50000 miles too. and if you ever decide to go off the road a little bit these can handle off road too. If I didn't do a lot of off roading I would defiantly get those

I have Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's on my Rainier. They have been on for the past 3 years // 30k miles and are wearing like steel. They will easily run for another 30k miles. They have been good in snow/rain and have gotten me through everything else I have put the truck through.

I really like my Cooper Discoverer H/T's. They are wearing great and have very little road noise. I wish I would have gone with a little more tread but it sounds like those would be great for you.

i've had them on everything from my slammed '78 LB to both of my 1/2 ton 2WD 'Burbs to one of my S series trucks. and they're great in the rain, even on a hugh boat like my 'Burb. guess you can tell i'm a big fan of Michelin's!

mind you, i've always gone with the LT235/75R15's, since i do alot of towing (heavier side wall). but even on my slammed p/u, it still rode quite nice.

and they last quite awhile too.

Just be sure to get the same size spare tire if you change tire sizes. Also you'll be going 3.3% faster than what your speedometer says, (SOURCE) i.e. around 62mph when your speedometer says 60. I've been driving with that size for years now (original size 235/70) and the difference is negligible but felt it was important to note. If you can't swing to buy the same size spare, put the stock spare on the front and switch the new size to the back if you get a flat on either of the rear wheels. Since you're 2wd you won't have to worry about keeping the same size tire on the front in 4wd if you get a flat.
