Default New rims wont fit...CONFUSED?

Whats Up everybody.

I know there are numerous tire questions and i searched through a bunch of them butdidnt find a definitive answer for the offset of the stock 2001 4x4 wheel.

I tried to purchase some UNIQUE 297 wheels in stock spec but they wouldnt clear the caliper. I got the wheels in these specs.
15 x 7, 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern, 6" back spacing.

Shoudlnt these be a direct replacement?

Is the offset thats the problem?

What is the stock offset?

The shop ordered the same wheels with the 0" backspacing so im going to try those next week when they arrive.

I would appreciate any info you guys have.

Thanks,
Jack

I would definitely advise against running the 0' backspacing rims. Aside from looking like a squished frog, you'll kill your wheel bearings, and your steering will hate you.

I believe the stock offset is 21mm? But it might just be the style of rim that's causing you problems. If the inside is rounded the tiniest bit, it could conflict with the truck-sized brakes..

Thanks for the reply. The rims barely touched the caliper so they were very close. Im looking for the cragar soft 8s. I guess theyre sold as unique 297s from discount tire now too. They werent real helpful either.

Edit: Your truck looks great and is sort of the look im going for. Just with standard tires. I also have a red 2nd gen.

It is pretty easy to grind down your calipers so they won't hit the rim. I know others have had to do it in the past with the rims they went with.

Anybody know what size will fit my 2001 4x4 blazer? Im looking for cragar soft 8s also called unique 297s.

Would a 15x7 , 5 x 4.75 bolt patter, 4" backspacing and, 0 offset fit a stock 235/70/r15 wheel?

Thanks for the help. Igoing to order the wheels online and I need to make sure they fit so i dont have to send them back.

J

I have the Pro Comp Series 97 (Cargar style)wheels and they are 15x8 with a 4.5" backspace. And I have no issues.

Do you think that backspacing would work with a 7 inch wheel? I recently bought new tires in stock size and would like to keep them.

Thanks for the reply nj.
