Default Question about backspacing.

hey! i litereally JUST purchased an 05 zr2 (black of course), im wanting to put on some new rims with 31inch BF all terrains. i found a nice set of rims with options of backspacing from 4.5" to 5.5". the rim size is 15 x 8, shoulkd i expect serious rubbing issues? (i know the stock rims have 6" backspacing but will .5 of an inch really make that much of a difference?) thank you for your help

I have a 1998 that I had this problem with. I have a set of 15x8's with 3.5" backspacing and they rubbed like crazy with the stock 31x10.50's. Ended up doing a 2" body lift and still have some rubbing issues. I'd personally test fit one before you commit to buy anything away from stock.

I would go with the 5.5bs. You should be fine with that. With 4.5 you might have some slight rubbing on the fenders when turning.

You should be fine with 5.5" bs. I ran some 15X7's with 4.5" bs years ago and only rubbed on the driver's side flare with 31's. Very minor rubbing at that.
