Default tire fitment?

Okay, I have a dumb question about tires, but want it clarified before I do this.

I found a set of tires I'm going to buy for the truck on TireRack. They are General Altimax HPs.

Stock tire size on the Xtreme was a 235/55R-16
My question is, would a 245/50R-16 tire fit? It's only a 10mm difference in width, but I don't want any issues to come up.
The overall height should be about the same too, correct?

actually Matt, it's more than just being a little bit wider.

the 245 tire is only going to have a diameter of 25.64" compared to your stock diameter of 26.17, making these new tires read about 2% faster than they're really going.

while you think you're driving along @ 60 mph, you're actually going about 1.2 mph slower.

not much, but it'll affect your ABS (probably), and definately affect your mileage calculations.
