Tires on a budget

Tires on a budget
To start I have a 2000 Blazer LA 4x4 that came with 235/70/15 tires. I see that I can fit 30x9.5 r 15 on it. I don't wheel a lot ( but I do on occasion enjoy the mud and light trails ) because it is my daily driver. I do live in North Dakota so I have winter to think of to. Would I be better just going to a 235/75/15 or to a 30x9.5 r 15 tires? Also what are some good at or mt tires with budget in mind? Any input to help me make a decision will be greatly appreciated.

Here's a good site with alot of info.

Not alot of diff between the two sizes you asked about. I've been using 235/75R15 General Grabber AT2's on my '96 Cherokee XJ for 2 winters now.. They're doing everything I've asked of them.

I had 4 new Falken Rocky Mountain ATS 30X950R15 All-Terrain, All-Season, All-Purpose tires mounted on the stock factory wheels and can't complain for the killer price of $112. each (before: Sales Tax, Environmental Fee "State Required" Tire Disposal Fee, Valve Stems, Lifetime Rotations, Installation & Lifetime Balancing) at America's Tire. So far I'm pleased with my purchase, other than the tread noise humming on the hwy.

Thanks. I went with the 255/70R15 Cooper Discovery AT3 tires. They ended up being just as tall as most of the 30 inch tires but they are also just over 10 inches wide. So i get a wider foot print as well as the taller tire. They do great on the trails and in mud.
