Tires and wheels confuse me
#1
I lifted my truck and the next step is wheels and tires, i'm going to go with 31 ATs probably either from BF goodrich or Goodyear... My question is this- If i want to put these on stock rims and still widen the stance what do i do? do they make back spacers that will work with stock rims? and how much space would i need to go to get the tires right out to the fender edges? Thanks guys

You can get 2" billet adapters but I don't recommend that. You can purchase them on ebay for cheap. Or you can get new 15" x 8" wheels with a 4.5" backspace. Another option is going to the salvage yard and picking up a set of 2wd s10 wheels or camaro wheels which have a 4" backspace and will give you that wider stance look. Remember stock wheels have a 6" backspace so lower the number more the wheel sticks out past the fender.

I found this nice set of American Racing wheels but i'm not sure if they are what i am looking for - Part# = AR625762, Size= 15 x 7, offset = 50mm, backside =5.97, bolt circle = 5 x 120.7........ they are the right size i'm just concerned that backside is the same as back spacing and that it will still be a 6 inch space, not giving me what i am looking for

No good. Look into cragar or pro comp wheels. They offer wheels that are 15 x 8 with a 4.5" backspace.

yeah i figured they wouldn't work... i spent about an hour on craigslist today and got a few leads for wheels, sent out a bunch of emails now just waiting for responses

I was also wondering since we both live in NJ, do you know the current fender/tire laws? I've been told that the tread is not suposed to stick out from under the fender, but it seems you are way past that, do you get hassled by the cops?
