Kyle, thanks. I'll put 12 volts across the orange and back pins and see what happens. I took both left and right leveling sensors off and cleaned the connectors and articulating arms. They are rubber and ride on a stud welded to the frame. Cleaned everything up on the pump and put it back in and to no avail. I was fit to be tied. Searched the internet all day looking for an alternative solutions.

Long story short, I'm going with Avalanche z71 springs, spacers in the front and it will be lifted 1.5". In the mean time, I am going to "T" off three lines. One to the right bag, one to the left bag and one to the Schrader valve in the accessory hookups. I'll need to keep 60-65 lbs of air in it.

So we’ll see. I’m still steaming over this stupid troublesome system. I’ll decide what direction I will take after I run 12 volts to the pump tomorrow.

Default Out with the air susp, in with the springs.

Just a quick update. Took the compressor out and put in a brass "T". The three lines; left bag, right bag and line to the Schrader valve in the back cargo area. I put in 60lbs of pressure and its holding. Took me a few tries because regular rubber hose line cannot sustain that pressure nor can a plastic T. I ended up with high pressure fuel line and a brass T. Day 4 and its holding air, no longer riding on the bump stops.

I ordered z71 Avalanche rear springs and going to toss the bag system in the trash. The springs are said to lift the rear about 1.5". I have a line on spacers up front to level it off. I’m actually excited to make it look less like a minivan and more like a 4x4. I think I might be able to put one size bigger tire to fill the wheel well.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds good. I would miss my rear air suspension too much. It gets a work out with all of the tools and towing that I do. It's nice when I have my camper behind it and it rides the same regardless of load!

You might need wheel spacers. I am a member of another forum for Trailblazers and Envoys only but don't go on to often becausse you can't talk about other vehicles (Blazers) and there are several threads about lifting and tires and I am pretty sure they mention spacers a bit.

phil101, does the compressor run properly each time? Does the back end of the truck sink down whenever you shut it off? Does it sound the same when it goes up properly as it does when it takes its time? You could have a problem with the compressor itself.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but my kid just picked up a 2000 Jimmy- Envoy edition with the air ride suspension. The air compressor runs every time the truck is started. the right rear corner sags when parked. Are there seperate air bags for each corner, or are there air shocks. I'm kinda stumped and not really sure what im looking for.
Thanks

Default 2006 GMC Envoy Denali Rear Air Bags deflate overnight when cold

Posting this for others who may experience the same problem with rear air bags deflating overnight when cold. When I experienced this issue I found it difficult to find clear answers and procedures.

Vehicle:
2006 Envoy Denali with 84,000 miles

Symptoms:
Vehicle operated fine however in cold overnight temperatures the rear air ride suspension air bags would deflate leaving the back end of the vehicle nearly on the ground. After starting the vehicle the rear air pump would kick in and raise the vehicle back up to the normal ride level.

Resolution:
I purchased a set of rear air bags (air springs) from Air Suspension Kits, Air Shocks, Suspension Parts, Struts - Arnott Industries the following instructions may help as well but are a bit lacking http://www.arnottindustries.com/file...496&Size=SMALL

After the vehicle was at the correct ride level on a level surface, I measured and noted the ride height vertically from the ground to the rear door where it meets the rear quarter panel on both sides as well as the floor to the bottom of the trailer hitch.

I shut the vehicle off, pulled fuse #1, blocked front and back of both front tires, and placed the 3 ton jack on the frame just forward of the rear axle. Raised the vehicle up and placed a jack stand just forward of the jack. Removed the jack and repeated the same on the other side. I removed the rear wheels and plastic wheel well liner on the passenger rear so that I could access the rear air pump/compressor located to the rear behind the tire.

I removed both bolts holding the rear air compressor and then lifted the compressor up and pulling gently out to release the hanger that attaches it to the frame. I then removed the black and clear hose tubes by gently pressing down on the metal gromit while pulling on the hose tube. This relased the pressure from the left and right air springs. I then reseated each of the air lines back into their respective valves and rehung the air compressor and reattached the 2 bolts.

One word of caution, do not remove the shocks at this time as they keep the axle from falling all the way down. I also placed the jack under rear differential to assit in holding the weight of the rear axle. Note the rear level arm/switch just in front of the rear axle attached to the frame on each side. You want to make sure that this does not have too much weight pulling on it and that it does not spin around when lowering the vehicle back down at the end of the procedures.

I then removed each air bag by gently turning them counter clockwise about a half inch and then pulled them down slightly so I could reach the air tubes. I gently pushed down on the metal gromit while pulling the hose tube out. I then placed the new air bag in, and reattached the hose tubes by pushing them all the way in until they seated at the bottom (would not go in any more) and then reattached the air bags by putting them back into the slots and rotating clockwise.

I then reattached the passenger side rear wheel well liner, reattactched both rear wheels, removed the jack from the rear axle, jacked up the left side just behind the jack stand, removed the jack stand and repeated the same on the other side to lower the vehicle back to the ground.

I then replaced fuse #1, started the vehicle, and let the rear air compressor bring the vehicle back to ride height. I then remeasured from the same points before to verify that the ride height was correct.

I did detect small cracks in the drivers side rear air spring which I believe was my problem when the temperatures fell below freezing.

The vehicle has been maintaining its ride height since. If you do believe that your air compressor has failed and needs replaced, a new air compressor can be purchased from the following sites.

Air Suspension Kits, Air Shocks, Suspension Parts, Struts - Arnott Industries

All of this took about 2 hours to complete but too many hours to research which is why I posted what I did.
