Search Three letter words?

Search Three letter words?
Ok, so call me retarded if I'm just missing an easy way to do this but we need the ability to search 3 letter words.
IE: EGR PCV CPI FPR BCM ECU TCM LED MFI DIY ...

Go to advanced search and search by "tag" (bottom right box). It will let you search only 3 letters.

I'll ask Patrick about allowing 3 letter searches. It may turn up a LOT of unrelated results though so take that as a fair warning.
You could try expanding out the name:
PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation
EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation
ECM = Engine Control Module
BCM = Body Control Module
CPI = Central Port Injection
ECU = Engine Control Unit
FPR = fuel pressure regulator
TCCM = Transfer Case Control Module (extra C to it)
LED = light emitting diode
DIY = Do It Yourself - not sure why you would want to search for this...
MFI = Multiport Fuel Injection
and the list can go on.
*EDIT*
Another option is doing your own search, not using the built in search tool. This process is explained in the Guidelines for Using SEARCH thread. It works, but as I said earlier, it can result in a lot of junk coming up if the acronym you are searching for pops up in common works. Most wouldn't though.

It would be better to make a more complete search request. Instead of just "egr' try "egr cleaning'. Instead of just 'pcv' try 'pcv replacement'. You get the idea. As Kyle stated, unrelated results will be avoided if you use a more precise search terminology. It works for me.

Very helpful advice! i haven't had much luck with using three letter words whether in conjunction with longer words or not. also the problem with surging for the full version of the acronym is that users don't always use the proper meaning.
maybe sticky this, i will refer back to this in the future.

Tip: there is a sticky with like 50 or so common acronyms broken down into tastey bits for everyone to enjoy. like party mix!

I'd just like to update this thread and say that the search function has been reconfigured to allow for 3 letter searches. You can now search for those favorite acronyms. I would still encourage you to add more words using the '+' sign between keywords - ex. 'egr+cleaning'.
