Drum brakes making noise
A few months ago I got my drums changed out because they were caked up with rust, but the day after my mechanic put the new drums in I noticed when I hit the brakes it would make a crunching noise. Like a disgusting crunching and grinding of metal being chewed, then right before I stopped would give out a nice squeal, kinda like a bus. I told my mechanic about it and he said he'd look at it, but it's been a while now and they're still crunching, or more so just squeaking by now.
At first I thought it was because the brakes were new, but I've been using them for a pretty long time now and they still crunch and squeal, but they don't seem to be damaged or anything.
Is this a problem I should really be concerned about, and can it lead to even more damage?

RE: Drum brakes making noise
check to make sure the backing plate isnt bent in the back .. It could be hitting the drum when it spins...

RE: Drum brakes making noise
I figured it could be something interfering and scratching, or maybe a bad alignment.
