1997 to 1998 Drivetrain Swap
Looking to put the 4L60E tranny and NV233 from a 1997 into a 1998 Blazer. Rear slip yoke (32 spline) won't be a problem as I'm swapping the drivetrain intact.
I'm concerned that the tccms have a different pn for the 2 years. Can I simply put the 1997 tccm into the 1998? Are there any other concerns I haven't addressed?
Thanks

I replied to your other thread on the subject of the transfer case.
I never like going backwards in terms of transmission years, but provided that the transmission has the removable bellhousing, it should be a direct swap. If it does not have a removable bellhousing, then it will not bolt in the same as the one in your '98 as it will not attach to the engine oil pan like the original one did. Sometime in the 97 model year was the change over to the two piece case with removable bellhousing so you'll have to check that out.

Agreed about backwards, but I've got a 98 with a bad 4L60E/ good tc, a 98 with a good tran / bad TC, and a 97 with a NEWLY rebuilt tc and solid tranny. Figured I'd make one good 98 (always nice having a donor) and move the 97 tran/tc into the other 98. If bellhousing is 1 pc, may swap the engine. Nice having access to a shop. Thanks!!
