Default I'm not an expert:

However, I would think you should be able to without any issues. I'm in the process of getting ready to put a 3.1 out of a 91 Camaro into an 85 S10 4x4 Blazer. We swapped over the intake manifold and distributor (in addition to some other minor things) as instructed by the salvage yards I spoke with about it. If that is supposed to work surely your swap would as well.

Default Sounds like a plan

I wasn't lucky enough to get to use the heads that were on the 91 Camaro 3.1 as it had 4 bolts broken off in them and I was only lucky enough to get 3 out. So, with a little more time and a little more work I had to change the heads as well.
