I'd go to junk yard man and get another 4x4 button assembly and try that

Yeah I think I am going to pick up one of those and see if there is a TCCM for cheap too

Ok so I found a guy parting out his blazer, picked up 4wd switch, TCCM, and fan shroud for 40 bucks. Pretty good score BUT my problem persists... What else could it be??

UPDATE:
Well after checking the fuses that control the 4x4 and lights to the dash and having no luck I just decided to start pulling every fuse and SHABAM!! the ATC fuse blew, swapped that mother out and it works now.

on my 2000 zr2 it turned out to be a corroded wire by the computer under the dash barely noticable but enough to end the 4x4

It sounds like your TCCM has failed. This will make the lights work or not, as the case may be. If you have the three button switch on your dash there are two plugs to the back of it. One (large 8 wire) is the output and the small thin one with two wires is the one that feeds power - remove the plug and no power/lights. Check the black wire for power feed.
There are only three other components to this system: the switch on the side of the transfer box/gearbox,(up above the front propshaft with three hoses going to it. The actuator (under the battery tray or on the top on the bulkhead on right side of engine compartment. And the cable and mechanism in side the diff.

The most likely failure is the switch on the gbox, next the actuator (hole in the diaphragm) and last the cable sometimes seizes. Rarely there is a prob in the mechanism in the diff but only when the car is old and worn.......

But going back the beginning it sounds like a TCCM problem. Wiring feed broken? Internal board problem? Or (possibly) a dash switch problem so look there first. All the rest is purely mechanical.
