help '87 full size Blazer front bucket seats!
Hello!
I'm new here, and hope I'm following the expected protocals...! I have an 87 Full size Blazer that has 250K original miles. The seats have finally given up. The ratchet mechanism that lets them fold forward or recline has totally crapped out. The adjusting tracks seem to be doing just fine. The original metal supports (box like mount) that the adjusting tracks and seat mount to appear fine. Can you still get the ratchet mechanism? Can you add that to a set of non-ratcheting buckets seats? I got a set of bucket seats out of an El Camino and I'm assuming they don't work like the set in my Blazer. or is there somewhere in the Phx metro area that I could take my buckets to and get a recovered/repaired set in exchange? Finally, has anyone taken the buckets out and put a bench seat or 60/40 seat in? I do have 4spd and the 4wd selector on the floor.
I hate to reinvent the wheel, but I love my ol' beast! Help a fellow gear head out please!
Happy New Year!

depending on your skills you can make jusat about any seat work in it but I would go to the junk yard and find a full size GM and snag the buckets out of it then use the rails / bases you have already

Thanks! I scored some nice fairly new buckets! Looks like they might just bolt up to the tracks I have and eliminate all the fuss!
Have a Happy New Year!

I'm want to attempt to get a 60/40 for my 91 K5, I'm guessing the mounting bolts will have to be chopped and new ones welded in?
