Default Anybody Flat Tow Their S-10?

I've got a '91 4 door, auto, 4.3, 4x4 S-10 Blazer. I know the Manual says to flat tow (all 4 wheels on the ground) short distances at low speed; but, what if I put the TC in N, the trans in P (lube the trans), make sure the steering wheel is unlocked and maybe disconnect the rear drive shaft at the diff...? Do I need to worry about the front hubs?

Thanks

If you disconnect the rear driveshaft and unlock the steering, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Same applies.

No need for a new thread on the subject. You can just edit the original post.

When i worked for the towing company we would have the engine running while flat towing that truck from the A-bars on the back of the tow truck, this only happens on stolen recoveries in rough terrain, otherwise it would get wheel lifted and dollied and be towed off the ground. that makes the fluids pump in the transmission so nothing gets ruined on its trip to the seizure lot or to a spot where we could hook it up for a tow proper. the vehicle gets put in neutral, Tcase in neutral too. no removing shafts or anything.

My mom and dad flat tow a 4x4 with their RV, and that vehicle just idles along behind the RV wherever they go, again to keep the fluids pumping. this is Tcase and trans in neutral, engine idling. They use the vehicles remote start to shut it off and turn it on while they are driving the RV.

Hope that helps you a little.
