Question 2 ? pushrod and gas pedal cable

Took push rods out and kept them in correct order, just when I wiped down, might have turned a few up side down. There is a little mark on each one. Do these marks go up or down . Or depending on if intake or exhaust vavle , it might have some up and some down. Anybody know. The hard plastic around the gas cable has broken in a few spots under the hood, will this effect gas cable and pedal. Does this need to be replaced , or is there a quick fix.

All the TSM says is to "install in their original location". I'd be interested to know also if the mark signifies up or down.

"Technically" the throttle cable is supposed to be replaced anytime it is removed. I think it is required when the shop does the work for fear it would kink in a position that locks the throttle in "go fast" mode, and you'd end up driving through the storefront window of the local 7/11. I wouldn't want to suggest a quick fix to you because if something did happen...you'd probably hunt me down and beat me up.
