Default 4.3L white smoke

Hello, my 92 4.3L has been weeping coolant out the right front of the intake for a while. I have heard of this problem a lot. I put a little leak stop in the radiator a while back. Now the engine is putting out white wet smoke (fog) out the tailpipe. My question, before I tear into it is, am I looking at replacing just the intake gaskets or will I have to replace the head gaskets too. I keep filling the radiator and it keeps going down. I can not find any leaks.

Thanks

Doug

i'm guessing u have around 100K mi on it? ya def sounds like an intake gasket. its not to bad just time consuming. i did mine at 110K mi and has been good since. it took me 2 nights of about 5 hrs or so each night to get it all fixed.

I would bet that it is just a head gasket problem. You could run a compression check to make sure.

One thing is for sure. If you are getting coolant into the combustion chamber, chances are it is getting into the oil as well. I would not drive it at all until you get things figured out and fixed!

Well, removed heads and gaskets looked fine. No. 8 cyl. looked dark around the valve area. Spark plug fouled with black gunk. No water in oil. Did find some external leaks at aluminum heater hose connector and intake gaskets. Aluminum hose connector snapped off in intake when touched (no suprise). Will clean up heads and check for cracks, then re-seat valves.
