93 fuel system issues (hellpppp)

Default 93 fuel system issues (hellpppp)

Ok, i bought this 93 blazer with a 4.3 vortec. drove it a couple weeks.had some issues with reverse( think i have that resolved). found broken motor mount on drivers side. the thing is, i parked it, the next morning it wouldnt start so i began the process of elimination. fuel pump wast working.found a melted wire in the tank (ground wire to fuel pump). replaced wire harness. figured it was the relay so i took the air relay and pluged it into the fuel relay plug. cool the motor started. now it idles really roughly. i am stumpped now....it had a little skip before all this but not much of one at all not it is almost like it is missing a plug (already replaced wires and plugs).no i didnt cross them, did it 1 at a time.yes all the wires are connected properly.no the fuel filter isnt clogged (checked that as well).and fineally at the back of the motor near the distributor is a vacume junction which im sure isnt done properly as i dont have a vacume diagram however it is at the best combination for the motor to run. can anyone give me some insight on this?

well the saga continues!! not it is leaking fuel from the #6 cylinder.......... does this thing need me to take my shotgun to it and end this sillyness?????????????????????????????????

First, I would spend the money and buy yourself a fuel pressure gauge and check the system pressure and leak down. Did you notice anything about the plugs when you changed them, fouled/lean?

when i changed them they were ok,

Number 6 huh? Thats right below your FPR... Methinks that fuel pressure tester would be a good investment.

I did the same thing on my 4.3l. new fuel pump and sending unit because of the bad looking wires. After I was done it still wouldn't start. I guess those wires were still ok, but I couldn't believe it by the looks of them. That's when I did massive searching in this site to find that the fuel pressure gauge is a must have with this engine. I should have been issued by GM when it was purchased. I found my problem was an open fuel injector coil (in the body of the injector spider body). I found this with a meter, and it wasn't the wiring or connections (rare find I have gathered, but not impossible). I found a used spider from a pull-a-part for less that $10.00. So anyways, when I pulled the plenum off I saw where the fuel pressure regulator had been leaking too. So replacing the nut-kit, the used spider body, a new gasket and installing a new FPR (it was leaking on the one from pull-a-part too) and the engine hasn't ran this good for years.
