Default 94 blazer, 4.3 vin w, a few little problems.

engine has 213k miles on it.. this may be why im going through these troubles right now.

I recently changed the oxygen sensor about a week ago, and it still smells really rich coming out of the exhaust. its almost bad enough to where no one wants to stand behind the truck because of the gasoline smell. is there anything else i can do to make the smell go away?

My engine makes a tapping sound, i have had it checked out and someone said they think it is a lifter going bad. it's not a very loud tap and it only happens when the truck is idling.

Sometimes, when i come out of four wheel drive, it takes a while for it to register, even though the shifter is in 2 wheel, the front wheels are still lit up saying its still in 4 high. Anything to do about this?

Thank you very much for your time, any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

gas mileage has been going down steadily but i think that's normal. i went from getting about 375 miles per tank to around 250-275 per tank now... i don't get any codes because the service engine light never comes on. it comes on periodically but usually shuts off.

it sounds like your central injector is going bad or 1 of the fuel lines in the intake is leaking if there is gas in the oil that is usually the problem

I don't have gas in the oil. Just changed it recently and it smells just fine, doesn't smell burnt or gassy or anything. Just like used oil.
