Default Battery cable problems NEED HELP!!!

I have a 91 s10 blazer and i just put in a new motor. I am almost finnished with installing it and hit a problem. I hooked both cables coming from the positive terminal to the starter and when i hook up the positive cable the starter engages... So now i dont think both cables from the positive terminal go to the starter.. I have one cable that comes from the wireing harness that i dont know were it goes... I looks like it could hook to the small post on the starter but then i dont know were the small positive cable hooks to. So here's what i need to know: Were does the small wire coming from the positive battery terminal hook too??? And is there a wire that comes from the wireing harness that hooks to the starter... Any help would be much appreciated!!!! Thank you so much.... This site has been so helpful in the rebuild.....

The wire going to the starter solonoid to fire the starter is purple and travels down the front of the block behind the waterpump to the starter
