Default cadi powered?

hi yall got a question for evryone. my engine seized up last week so i need a new engine for my 89 s10 blazer. so i got a 1996 cadillac northstar V8 that i can pick up and i would like to know if an engine swap like this is possible. the engine runs PERFECT and it sounds amazing so im just wondering if this is possible since it is a front wheel drive v8 BUT they put these in escalades to if i remember right so it seems like it is possible. anyways i need to replace my engine regaurdless so if this isnt possible id like another idea of a V8 swap. thanks yall

You are asking a technical question, not selling something, so this thread is being moved to '1st Gen Tech'.

With enough time and money, anything is possible! You have to decide how much of both you have to devote to this project. I once saw a guy put a small block Mopar in a VW bug! The first thing I would find out is, the compatibility of the Northstar engine to your trans. Next, take measurements of the Northstar to see if it will fit in your engine compartment. If you are a good welder/fabricator, or know one, this will help. You will have to make engine mounts, brackets, etc. Then budget 2-3 times more time then you THINK it will take, and about $2,000 more than you THINK it will cost. It looks like it`s going to be a long winter, so it sounds like fun! If you do it be sure to post some pics! You will be a hero here!

Well, I'll be the first to break the bad news... The Northstar bell housing bolt pattern is different than the 4.3L (and the rest of the GM v8) bell housing bolt pattern.
