Default A/C Question

2001 Blazer 2dr, 2WD 4.3L 132,000 miles.

I have had the blazer for about 2 weeks. When I test drove it everything worked fine. So I bought it. For the past week when I have the A/C on the compressor kicks on for about 30 sec/ and off for about 10 sec. While driving you fill the vehicle kind of lose power a little everytime the compressor kicks on. I am not sure what it could be.

The servie engine soon light came on a couple days ago and I rembered that i didn't tightin the gas cap so i cleared the code and alwas good untill to day then it came back on i had it checked it is the 02 sensor. I know the service engine light doens't have anything to do with the compressor kicking on and off.

I would arrprecaite any help this is my first blazer, but not my first Chevy vehicle.

Thanks,
Dan

More than likely your system is low on refrigerant check it out and fill it up if need be.
Also, you feel it lose power because it puts extra pull on the motor to turn on the ac.

Would it being low on refrigerant cause it to cut on and off. I can I check to see if it is low? I understand that using the ac uses more poser.

I have also noticed that when it is on max A/C it has a low whine to it.

yes it kicks on alot cause its low on refridgerant. you can charge it yourself just buy the kit that has the gauge, and watch a couple youtube videos on how to do it. its easy.

Yes, low refrigerant will cause it to kick on and off it's easy to fill like ohsofly said.
