Default charging/electric problem please help!

Ok i have a 1987 s-10 blazer 2.8L every option...
for some reason while its running; if i use anything electrical; lights, brakes, or even turn the steering wheel it wants to die. and the gauge shows about 10v
I have a brand new battery +/- battery cables, I had the alternator checked and i even disconnected the battery and it continued to run... i have no clue whats wrong!???? help if you can

If its running around 10V, you have a charging problem. Either that or one heck of a load on the system. Have you checked the wiring to the alternator?

Well i got this blazer from my uncle and he was not very mechanically inclined...
there is a yellow wire from the back of the alternator to the positive stud on the battery
and off the same spot there is an orange wire to something and it has a black rubber thing on it.. and a plug with two wires running somewhere... i cant tell were they are going..? i don't think its hooked up right.

When the engine isn't running it shows around 12 volts... and all the wiring is good?

it seems like something is pulling energy but everything is off... could it be the spark plugs or something like that? i just bought a brand new alternator for it because everyone i talked to said it might be it and nothing changed... interesting (pondering)
